The Glycerin is a daily trainer, and for an experienced runner, the ride will feel a little bit slow on faster runs. However, the Glycerin has a more adaptive and snappy ride than other shoes with its level of cushion. The upper of the Glycerin 19 feels so good that it was as if it was designed specifically for my feet. It fits true to size and the plush layers of mesh mold to your feet. For those running in harsh winter conditions, the midsole does freeze a little bit. The ride becomes less soft, and you might be better off choosing a shoe with a TPU style midsole. The Glycerin is still a great choice. Exceptional traction

DNA is made of a non-Newtonian compound, which means that it changes its state of matter when different amounts of pressure are applied to it. When you are running faster, you apply more pressure to the midsole. The Glycerin 19 rides smooth, really smooth. It’s one of the smoothest-riding, max-cushioned trainers on the market due to its single density midsole and its outsole configuration. The downside is that the rubber wears down faster than the norm. On my pair, on the outer lateral heel area, the rubber has already worn down 2-3mm so I expect to reach midsole foam by the time I hit 300 kilometres which is not ideal. The G18’s platform is notably wider and softer, which translates into a more comfortable ride. The only concern is with the outsole, as it features less rubber, making it more prone to premature wear. Brooks Ghost 14 The shoes impressed me with their initial look and feel. When they showed up, the design was understated but nice, with a good accent color between the upper and the cushion. The Brooks Glycerins are one of the most well known running shoes on the market. Most anyone who is into running will know the shoe.

The DNA Loft cushioning foam in the shoe remains the same as the Glycerin 17, albeit with more of it. The DNA Loft is made up of a mix of EVA foam, rubber and air. While the standard Glycerin model is a maximum-cushioned, neutral trainer, the Brooks Glycerin GTS 19 and 20 (newly released in July 2022) are classed as stability trainers. Stability running shoes such as these are ideal for runners with overpronation, who need more ankle support and a less flexible sole. The tongue, like the rest of the shoe, delivers a padded feel that holds the foot in an almost cosy position – not a phrase we normally use to describe a running shoe. The laces add to that by being possibly the most cushioned shoelaces we've ever seen on a running shoe, something that also makes them extremely easy to tie up. The stretch mesh upper feels and looks pretty nice too. No hot spots, no pressure points whatsoever, and I think it can accommodate a large number of foot types, from wide to narrow(ish). It’s a simple, yet clean-looking shoe that has gradually dropped the gaudy, overlay-happy BS of previous models. Everyone’s all about midsoles and plates nowadays, but I appreciate a good, clean upper. We've spent the past few weeks putting the Brooks Glycerin 18 through it's still one of the best options out there for those who care about comfort over speed. As a shoe reviewer, I never have a chance to wear out my shoes; there are always barely used shoes laying around, but I couldn’t take my feet out of this pair. The Glycerin 14s and 15s had too firm of a midsole. The Glycerin 18 features more DNA Loft cushioning than the last version for a lighter weight shoe with a softer ride. Our testers loved the plush step-in feel provided by the Ortholite liner and agreed that the Glycerin 18 offered the perfect amount of cushioning without being so soft underfoot that responsiveness is lost.

My feet are on the wider side, I like that the shoes are naturally a little wider to accommodate. If your foot is slimmer than mine, then you can cinch in the upper for a secure fit.Our testers loved the jacquard mesh upper of the Glycerin 18. They felt that it provided stellar support with no compromises in comfort thanks to the padded heel collar and adequate stretch. The Ghost is more versatile than the Glycerin as a result of its firmer midsole. It can handle short tempo runs better and also has enough cushioning for long runs. The Glycerin is best suited to long runs at relaxed paces. The Glycerin may be sleek, but it is certainly heavy-duty. All the materials in the shoe are very high quality and durable. The biggest difference between the outsoles of the Glycerin 19 and the 18 is that the 19 has one long price of rubber on the medial side that extends from the rearfoot, all the way to the end of the midfoot just before where the forefoot starts. Ride transitions are very smooth in both the Glycerin and the Ghost due to their single-density midsoles.
