There's all kinds of "not like other girls" type lines, and naturally, Tiernan is a gold star virgin that they all fight over, and some sexual stuff happens well before she turns eighteen, although they don't bang her until she is eighteen, thank GOD.

I've tried to be as vague as possible as don't want to spoil but yeah good job on a distinctly different story but definitely check your triggers before reading. that was like 200 pages too long, we could’ve gotten the whole point of the book in way less time without all of tiernan’s talking about nothing and going on a car ride and feeding the horses and making breakfast etc etc we don’t care. personally, i don't like sharing because im selfish and i just don't believe a super-duper alpha, possessive type of H would even be down for sharing/threesome, but honestly, this book is really good. The entire situation they find themselves in is quite outrageous (obvs) and it was… definitely something! i had to read about this lady for so long and by the end of the book i barely knew her any more than i did when i hadn’t even started the book yet.The book is told from multiple perspectives of all the four main characters, though it’s mostly just Tiernan’s.

Girl is placed under care of her father's stepbrother, who lives in the mountains of Colorado with his two sons. apparently these threesomes happened for all the characters to heal and connect but it just really bugs me since the H's are extremely possessive but apparently they're down to share their women with their best friends/brother. I don't really know how exactly to go about discussing this book as it doesn't really fit in any of the prescribed boxes (or tropes) in which we romance readers like to shove things. Kaleb locked Terry into her room and did not let her out and another time he hurt her so much that she ran away.

Simply, the heroine has sex with three men, and then arbitrarily decides to fall in love with one of them over the other. It’s definitely not for everyone but if you’re “okay” with reading taboo romances I think PD would be the author to check out (or so I’ve heard). I have to mention something here, Pen's heroines have a commonality, they're young but have chutzpah, their physicality contributes to their beauty as much as their character which is very attractive.

Which was this cluttered bit of taboo heat and a dash of highly charged, and at times beyond disturbing, romanticized abuse. Similar to the After series, it was kind of like Credence was a train-wreck I couldn't look away from. The central romances were a bit of a clusterf*ck of thing: a massive age gap, step-relatives, dubious consent, etc. I'm not gonna lie, it took me several pages to get engaged with the story but it was so worthy to keep going.

But to me, it’s the words in the book I’m reading, not the little details here and there, though I understand some people collect books etc. However, I was very much team Jake and I was disappointed that as we got closer to the end, his perspective and his established relationship and chemistry with Tiernan just kind of disappeared? Front the first scene she meets Kaleb he nearly fucking rapes her and I knew I wouldn’t like him from that moment on. noah did confuse me sometimes though because he acted all tough and bad or whatever but then was really gentle and chill the next second so that was kinda weird, it’s like the author couldn’t decide exactly what they wanted him to be like. They never speak to each other, Kaleb isn't even in like half the book, he rapes her like it's going out of fashion. It's important to note that at Booked J we are open to all genres and as our audience grows, so does our taste in literature.
