Starts very fruity, smoke from burnt sugar, sweet and a bit heavy. 15-20 minutes later is already more fresh. To my nose is like a mix of Aventus and Erba Pura. Appropriate for spring and autumn, between 5 and 25 degrees Celsius. Good one also for winter, but not at all for hot summer days. Even if you work in climate controlled environment like i do.

Overspray the shit out of this if you’re brave enough to buy it and not stand the burned plastic smell that stays for 2-3 minutes. Not so unisex to me, more masciline, but if a lady is confident and likes D&G L'imperatrice for summer and Xerjoff Erba Pura for winter, this will be a good choice for spring and fall. The opening lasts just long enough for me, and when the woody notes begin to settle in, I’m just overjoyed by the luxury that this fragrance exudes. It’s a really nice balance between playful and serious. I enjoy the term “eastern fragrances for western noses” because that perfectly sums this one up for me. I wouldn’t recommend it for any one season over another, but so far this summer, I’m getting great-ish performance if I don’t work up too much of a sweat. On days where I have spent my time in A/C controlled environments, I would get whiffs of myself in the air, and the pineapple note sings a little harmony under the creamy, just almost smoky and mildly spicy woods. Man, Lattafa hasn't had a single miss in the 12 blind buy haul I received last week. Even the ones incompatible with my olfactory preferences were good performers with good ingredients.

I won’t confuse, or bore anyone by trying to describe how much like another fragrance this one smells. To MY nose, it’s completely unique as a whole. There are notes that lean toward familiarity in it, but I couldn’t give you a specific reference. Being that this is also the first, and only fragrance from the house that I’ve tried, I’m curious to see if any of the DNA translates elsewhere. SIGHT: The Sun by Edvard Munch. Wheatfield with Reaper and Sun by Vincent Van Gogh. Sunflower New Mexico 1935 by Georgia O'Keeffe. Michelle Williams. Goldie Hawn. Monarch butterfly. Although I don't get any Aventus vibes whatsoever, I'll admit that something in the mid does remind me of a single accord from the original Club de Nuit Intense edt. But for the first hour, it's that awful saffron-oud mix that dominates. Medicinal and with a powdery and crystalline sweetness. Definitely vibes of Oud for Greatness, although nowhere near as woody or spicy. There's a bit of Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud too but without the whole By The Fireplace feel. If I were to place it in a genre, it would be a relative or distant neighbour of BR540.....ish. Absolutely nothing smells anywhere close to natural in this; and although the blend does get better with time, I find myself becoming more annoyed with each sniff. What can I say. The style just isn't for me. I sprayed Bogoss on my left hand and QAF on my right, and at a first spray I almost preferred the Bogoss because it's a tad bit fresher and has some more "oomph" to it, I could hardly smell QAF when I tried to sniff my right hand.

Step 2: Take the sh*tty dirtiness from Al Haramain's Detour Noir and synthetic oud-saffron combo from miriads of middle eastern BR540/Oud for Greatness smell-alikes. Have you ever put pineapple on a grill? If you haven't, I highly recommend it - core and quarter it, and pop it on some foil over hot coals. It's delicious, juicy, and a totally different way of experiencing the glory of pineapple. In summary, if you put Qaed Al Fursan in a Parfums Vintage bottle and sprayed it on me (or yourself), you could fool me, maybe momentarilly, maybe all day. Anyway, I like it and it might definitely see some use from me. It's a good fragrance, great if you take price into consideration, but I don't think it will land anywhere close to my favorites.TASTE: Grilled pineapple. Pineapple upside down cake. Pineapple margarita. Ambrosia salad. Pineapple kesari. Within an hour or so it morphs into a mixture where the generic designer base takes over and part of the synthetic pineapple smell stays lingering around, and then stays that way for a long time. Do you sometimes smell on the sprayer of a bottle of and think "ugh, this could be anything"? That's how the dry down smells. The strongest component in it is the synthetic that people associate with saffron, a relatively dry and powdery lightly spicy melon scent. I suppose many people are noseblind to it and that's why they think the pineapple lasts a long time. If you overspray this, the pineapple should remain strong for longer. Unfortunately, that means that the poor people around you who can smell that awful base accord and synthetic oud will suffer a lot. I bring this up because Qaed Al Fursan smells exactly like what you get when you do that: sweet, delicious, slightly smokey pineapple, with just a hint of resin/woods. It's also not going to appeal to everyone, but if you DO like pineapple, it's a great way to experience the essence of one (QAF and grilling a pineapple both are, as far as that goes - but to be clear, I'm talking about the fragrance here). Rave Now is a decent pineapple-based fragrance with a woody-ish dry down. I get different things when applied on my skin and on my clothes. On clothes, it lasts a lot longer (obviously)- almost 24 hours in my experience. It sort of remains a pineapple fragrance throughout its duration on clothes as well and is very fresh. By this I mean it can be worn in very hot environments. Noble floral and woody shades make it persistent, expressive and extremely attractive. The last chord creates a train of choppy, grey ambergris, a slightly perceptible sound of pleasant vanilla, which contrasts with the soft, woody-earthy accent of oak moss and sensual, rich musk.
