Description
For example, my 2016 MacBook Pro can connect to the Deco X68 at up to 1300Mbps which most other mesh systems don't offer. Mesh systems like the TP-Link Deco X68 have benefited more from Wi-Fi 6 and tri-band Wi-Fi than just about all other applications. The tri-band connection means that your devices don't need to share bandwidth with the mesh connection. Easily create a profile for each family member and set custom time limits and online time allowances. Universally Compatible - Backward compatible with all Wi-Fi generations ideal for any internet plan up to 1 Gbps and works with any internet service provider (ISP) modem and all Deco Mesh Wi-Fi.
It has enough performance for gigabit connections, whether you're connected to the main router or a remote mesh node. With seven data streams, this router gets an extra speed boost for its backhaul and can even deliver higher speeds to devices with 3x3 MU-MIMO like Intel-based MacBook Pros from the last few years.Installing the system is as easy as downloading the app, selecting what unit you’re setting up, and following the instructions. The system supports up to 150 devices with MU-MIMO technology allowing for simultaneous communication with multiple devices to help ensure smooth 4K video streaming, online games, and more. Deco X68 provides an extra 5 GHz band working exclusively as the strong backhaul between deco units.
While you can connect the Deco X68 units together with an ethernet cable, it’s not required to create a mesh network. I have no idea why the Deco system needed to check its own IP information over 20,000 times, but unlike with the Avira pings, data to ifconfig stopped after a few days. It's one of the cheapest tri-band mesh network systems currently available, and it has a few features not common in some competing devices, like the (limited) web panel and two Ethernet ports on each node.
I suspect those of you that have a more technical background would prefer the app to have more flexibility / configuration options, but I guess that's the tradeoff you make to keep the setup process simple. TP-Link allows you to change a few settings and monitor network activity through a web panel, accessible by navigating to the network gateway in your browser (192. Still, some people will be put off by the lack of advanced settings, and the change to HomeShield may be rough for some that were expecting security features for free. AI-Driven Mesh: Intelligently learns the network environment to provide ideal WiFi unique to your home.
