Sipped The Duppy Share Duppy White Jamaican Rum is initially quite mineral like – quite spicy with a nice hit of chilli heat and a Pimento dram like note. The Duppy White is their latest release (although there is a potential Duppy XO in the works as well) made in collaboration with the British actor and musician Kano.I really like the fruitiness of this rum, coupled with the medium chilli heat it works really nicely in a Rum and Coke. If I was in Jamaica I’d drink like everyone else there but here in Queensland the duppy white is a very good alternative to that fantastic taste of Jamaica which we have all been missing out on for too long. Which in fairness doesn’t sent the benchmark all that high but it isn’t just better than those rums.

Duppy Share is an English rum brand that has been growing steadily over the past years and can be seen pretty much everywhere, from supermarkets to your favourite rum bars or even Greene King pubs.The Duppy Share White is a Jamaican white rum, which is perfect for clean drinking but also for all kinds of classic cocktails. A versatile liqueur which is the base for many cocktails and often enjoyed neat, Grand Marnier is a staple of the classic drinks cabinet and one which will be enjoyed time and again.

The first white rum that’s designed to be drunk neat and in shots, as well as starring in classic white rum cocktails, Duppy White asks us to celebrate life and guarantees nights to remember. Rum is housed in a nice bottle with a label that contains references to Kan's life from fashion, through food, Empier Windrush to the myriad ways Jamaican culture has affected us all. Like so many of the classic cocktail favourites, the origins of the Mojito cocktail have been lost and blurred over the years.

After asking online, I’ve been told this is a blend of rums from Hampden, Clarendon and Worthy Park.

Having spoken with the people behind Duppy White they are trying to offer people drinking Bacardi Superior and “house” Supermarket rum a more flavourful and authentic rum experience.It is a blend of Pot and Column distilled rum from undisclosed distilleries (or potentially just one distillery) from Jamaica. Absolutely suitable for sipping neat to appreciate that full-bodied flavour profile, and it'll also do wonders in all sorts of classic cocktails. I’m not sure many white rums have been marketed towards the sipping end of the spectrum but certainly the biggest player globally in white rum – Bacardi certainly introduced a white sipping rum a few years back.
