I understand that the author has a young daughter himself – and you can hear her role as both muse and consultant in every page of this book!

Not just Evie’s dialogue but the narration and the point of view of the narrator has that particular, pre-adolescent quality of speech and thought that every parent of an 11 year old will be familiar with.Today I would like to start with a children’s book, that has a lot of Matt Haig’s wisdom in it, and is an absolute must read. I grew very fond of Evie as her warm-hearted and caring personality is shown towards the animals and humans. This adventure story is great to use with children in KS2 as there are lots of key messages and features that can be explored.

This highly edible story of a girl who wants to save the planet, with beautiful pictures by Emily Gravett, is most timely and will go down well with fans of Greta Thunberg .Die Zeit drängt, und nur mit tierischer Hilfe hat Evie eine Chance, das drohende Unheil zu verhindern. Nykyisin on ollut melko hankala selata kirjasomea törmäämättä Matt Haigiin ja erityisesti Keskiyön kirjastoon. It could have been very earnest, but its all done with a very light touch and laugh-out-loud funny in places. I liked the characters chosen for his book, every single character teaches the young readers something valuable.

Bought this as I have a 10 year old that’s not too keen on reading, but has loved other books by Matt Haig. uk will use the information you provide on this form to be in touch with you and to provide updates and marketing. Wow, was für eine tolle Idee und eine mega schöne Umsetzung, die mit wirklich tollen Illustrationen unterstützt wird. This first magical book in the festive series, from number one bestselling author Matt Haig, and featuring enchanting illustrations from Chris Mould – the very true story of Father Christmas. His memoir Reasons to Stay Alive was a number one bestseller, staying in the British top ten for 46 weeks. Having said all that, on the other hand, it seems quite believable that Evie would have a bit of trouble fitting in -- her interests are quite niche, and in the same grade 6 or year 7 cohort you can get range of behaviour, from kids who act like children to kids who act like teenagers.
