The Foray MIPS drafts off the bold design language of our premium Synthe helmet, and offers many of our key features including durable In-Mold construction and the Roc Loc 5 fit system with two-way fit adjustment. The 21 open, deep vents increase air-flow through the whole helmet and out through an almost exhaust-like vent setup at the rear. In addition to external ventilation system, Giro have added channels on the inside of the helmet liner to act as exhausts for releasing the hot air build up inside the helmet.

Giro’s proprietary three-size Super Fit system is based on “human scale factors” data and over 20 years of crafting helmets for the best bike riders in the world. I get quite hot when I cycle, so riding at a pace with the heat of the day, my head quickly began to sweat. The Foray follows a similar aesthetic to many of Giro's range of helmets with quite a rounded shape and plenty of swoopy lines. This wasn't a deal-breaker for our testers, but for riders with head shapes and sizes that don't perfectly align with the shape of the helmet liner, this could lead to an awkward fit or uncomfortable pressure points. It does however benefit from Giro's In-Mold construction technique that moulds and bonds the polystyrene with the harder outer shell in a single process.This is more a reflection of my head shape than the helmet per se and as with any helmet it is important to try some on to determine which suits you. The slim design is very light, offers great ventilation and is available in three super fit sizes so that you can get a helmet that looks, fits and feels like it was made for you. After several hundred miles of use, the EPS shell construction has revealed no pressure points on the temple or elsewhere about my pointy skull. It is also very lightweight and has a slim profile, so it's hardly noticeable that you're even wearing it, which is this sign of an ideal helmet. It does suffer a bit from a larger shell design making it look a little more cumbersome on the head. The vents and internal channelling are well positioned to keep you cool, while the internal pads offer a comfy ride and are easily removed to wash when dirty.
