Description

The new Adistar, like many running shoes today, has transitioned away from being a stability shoe to a neutral shoe with geometric guidance and a maximal stack height. Measure this with a ruler or tape measure the distances between the two points that are furthest apart in [cm/in] (see Figure - vertical line). Please Note: Shipments sent outside of the UK are sold exclusive of VAT and may be subject to local import duties and taxes. To make it more attractive to current consumers, I would highly suggest using lighter and newer foams to provide additional softness/comfort. Because of this, it's an easy pick for days where protection from impact is needed, especially high-mileage efforts.

It is extremely durable and will last much longer than other shoes, but it carries more weight than necessary. The design of the Adistar is different from many conventional shoes, which usually focus on a softer heel for cushioned landings. The upper feels slightly warm because of all the padding and the overlays but there are holes on the top of the toe box for extra ventilation. The dual-density midsole aids in stability but the downside is that it stops the smooth rocker from working effectively. For racing flats we ensure that we have completed intervals, a tempo or steady state run as well as a warm-up and cool down in each pair prior to review. On the other hand, as we have already mentioned, this is a long-distance model, suitable for covering long distances.

For trainers and performance trainers, we take them on daily runs, workouts, recovery runs and a long run prior to review (often accumulating anywhere from 20-50 miles in the process). The dual-density midsole combines lightweight foam for springy cushioning with a firm compound that cradles the heel. Fortunately, the traction is extremely good on both wet and dry roads, but that may be due to the weight keeping the shoe on the ground. We can see a great benefit here for runners with moderate overpronation who don't want to get a stability shoe. On that run, the Adistar reminded me of 2 other shoes that I tested this year: the Mizuno Wave Rider 25 and the Hoka Bondi X.

There is no give whatsoever to Repetitor+, so much so that it might as well be a weightlifting shoe in that section. The toebox is phenomenal, one of the best non-Altra/Topo toe boxes on the market, allowing your toes plenty of room to splay out, and with virtually zero vertical restriction as well. Regarding the appropriate distance for the shoe, we will be able to run without problems up to distances similar to the half marathon, for longer distances, the brand already has other more suitable models. The Ultraboost series has long been criticised for being too sneaker-like, which used to put off more diehard runners. are adidas running shoes designed to face your most demanding workouts, as far as distances are concerned. The ultra firm heel feel will be a deal breaker for heel strikers, but could double as a training device for runners trying to change their stride.

What’s more, landing on the heel is outright jarring - which for me, as a midfoot striker, only happened when I was trying to make it happen. They have to work hardest when they are in a lengthened position (hip extended, so the hip flexors are stretched out), which is even more challenging for this muscle group. The firmer REPETITOR + foam at the heel also creates a firmer place to land, that although clunky, creates more inherent stability. It is incredibly stable for a maximalist shoe and it doesn’t feel like a traditional stability trainer. If you have a shoe rotation with space for an easy option that isn’t excessively soft and springy, but rather smooth and stable, it will fill that spot. The Adistar looks far more striking than any Bondi thus far and has a real full-fledged toebox, which is more than any Bondi can claim. This shape and foam combination is said to have been tested over 4,500km to make sure it works as well as intended. stiffer in the freezer test, we expect it to feel less flexible when running in chilly weather as well.
