Overall the lightweight, robust quality and design of the Hikelite makes it a good choice as an all round summer day pack. When Osprey sent the HikeLite 26 for review, it seemed a day pack was a good fit for my recent activities.

Both of these materials are treated with PFAS-free DWR (durable water repellent) to encourage water to bead off the fabric and provide reliable water resistance for unpredictable weather; however, please be aware that this doesn't make it fully waterproof! Last but not least, this backpack includes a raincover made with PFAS-free DWR and bluesign® approved material. This allows plenty of air to circulate between your back and the backpack, which is especially useful for sports use.This tensioned trampoline-type mesh has been used for a number of years by manufacturers such as Dueter and Gregory and in the case of the Hikelite it really keeps the pack a long way from your body, preventing much of the sweaty back experienced with closer-fitting packs. Built around an Airspeed™ suspended mesh backpanel and a removable webbing hipbelt, the Hikelite 26 lets you carry your load comfortably with the weight distributed evenly across your back, as well as keeping you cool thanks to the effective ventilation. Per- and polyfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) are a family of human-made, fluorine-containing chemicals. I always look for sturdy, easy-pull zips and clips that are easy to do up and undo, and Just like all of the Osprey backpacks I’ve owned, the Hikelike 26 performs well.
