When players reach the gatekeeper space at the end of the current dungeon board, instead of drawing a new card, the DM selects the gatekeeper card next to the dungeon board and then the party either plays through the scenario or fights the monster to complete the dungeon board. Play then moves on to the next space on the map, until the party reaches a gatekeeper space at the end of the map. I’m very confused as I haven’t agreed to review this game, and wouldn’t, as I have no interest in Monopoly or Fortnite. Each dungeon tile has its own adventure deck and the damage clip is used on monster cards to keep track of its health. If only there were a gateway game to introduce the main concepts of the game without lots of reading and math.

Players are sent out to battle creatures, collect treasures, and avoid dying thanks to simple concepts and fast-paced gameplay. Unfortunately, my copy of the game was missing the Green Elf miniature, which Hasbro was unwilling to replace (more about that later). The Dwarven Fighter and Dragonborn Rogue have decided to seek after monsters while the other two heroes play it safer by staying on the core spaces. Some scenario cards require players to come up with a solution to a problem using the items in their backpack.

The words are synonymous with RPG gaming and have recently been brought to the attention of a whole new audience through features in TV and movies. For example, players may have to get up and do a dance of their race with the DM deciding which dance it best.

Also, if this starter set goes well, Hasbro of the Coast could sell add-on packs of additional characters, and adventures, to extend the playability of this game.Each character gives you two hero options, two personality type options and two weapon options, which gives you a number of different combinations for each individual character. The two personality tiles provides 4 different options listing attributes as well as a special ability which can be used once per dungeon board. Your review suggests the game would be a reasonable starter intro for me and my sons when we have an hour to spare of an evening. Place the Boss tile in the Boss stand and place it in the gatekeeper space on that Boss’s dungeon tile. It is listed as a two to four-player game with each session taking anywhere from half an hour to an hour depending on how descriptive your group gets and whether or not you take part in any side quest combats. It's a fun little game and I would like to see more, perhaps adding a little more complexity that you can mix into it if you'd like. Select one side of character tile in the left side of the health tracker, one of the two personality tiles in the center, and one of the two combat tiles on the right side with the Level 1 side facing the player.The game continues until you reach and defeat the final boss monster or all of the characters die along the way. Taking away this difference does not encourage players to make strategic decisions about which actions different characters should perform and, in all likelihood, renders character creation in this game more aesthetic than substantial.
