I don’t normally go for the montagey floating head covers, but Number 7 strikes me as better than any of the English/American Silver Chair covers. Adult readers will be quick to spot the Christian symbolism woven through C S Lewis's story, which some critics have found problematic - but children will enjoy the magic of this spellbinding adventure in its own right.

Handmade project // For this brief we said goodbye to the Macs and created handmade images for a book cover or film poster. He was a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954, when he was unanimously elected to the Chair of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. Each piece was sweet and light to the very center and Edmond and never tasted anything more delicious. When the Pevensie children - Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy - step through a wardrobe door in the strange country house where they are staying, they find themselves in the land of Narnia. This classic story is certain to capture young imaginations, cleverly blending elements of fairy-tale and fantasy to create a wonderfully engaging adventure. NarniaWeb is maintained by fans and is in no way connected to Walden Media, Walt Disney Pictures, 20th Century Fox, The Mark Gordon Company, Netflix, or the C. Tempted by the promise of endless Turkish Delight, Edmund becomes the White Witch's servant - and its up to his brother and sisters to release him from his enchantment and to rid Narnia of the witch.

I don’t think it stood out to me in the poll but taking a long look at it in this video really gave me an appreciation for it. The Queen let another drop fall from her bottle on to the snow and instantly there appeared a round box, tied with green silk ribbon, which, when opened turned out to contain several pounds of the best Turkish Delight. The cover with her artwork on The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is the same as the paperback edition that I have.

Children's books are full of varied and colourful portrayals of queens: some wield Evil Powers, while others save the day in interesting ways. I love this book and it gave me many mixed feelings towards Edmund from the time he betrayed Lucy and I was scared he was going to be on the White witch's side throughout the whole story. To date, the Narnia books have sold over 100 million copies and been transformed into three major motion pictures. I also like how they use the same characters in each book and they also take some away in one and back in in another. I like some of the picture books David Wiesner (who did Number 4) has done, but I find his Narnia book covers to be very bland.
