About this deal

There are different ways to consider the present, from the objects and themes that are front-ofbrain to the sensory details that have filled in the spaces in between moments. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I also usually drink an obscene amount of sparkling water, cold brew, and matcha on repeat all day long. I have not worked in an office in over five years, so the biggest change brought on by the presence of COVID-19 is just the quantity of time spent at home.

From the twins to the crab, chatty Gemini yields to caring Cancer from June 22 – July 22 in the Western zodiac. The Moon Lists is a new way to journal: Filled with 18 months of exercises for breaking through creative, emotional, and transitional roadblocks, it introduces a routine practice of digging below the surface to explore parts of the mind that are new, unknown, and full of possibility. This project is very much a side gig that — like anyone’s passion project — often gets slotted into late night weekend work sessions or bookended into whenever I have random pockets of spare time. Journaling can synthesize our idea of who we appear to be and who we actually are, serving as a hinge between our abstract ideas of personhood versus the tangible details of our days. The size chart serves as a general size guide for helping you find your exact House of Woo and Uplifters Ranch size. I’m strict with my working schedule but not insane—I work best in the morning so I front-load my day with any tasks that require deep concentration. Choosing the way you observe, reflect on, and document what’s going on at present is a reminder: you are in control of your narrative.

The deepest care I give myself is something that ultimately does not end in selfish progress but supports growth in levels that go beyond my life and narrow experience. I’ve kept some form of a journal for most of my life, but its format has evolved (the most current iteration of the digital Moon Lists is probably the closest to how it looks now, a combination of observations, lists, personal inventories). A couple years ago, Moon Lists founder Leigh Patterson became interested in a new idea after reading an interview with photographer Sam Abell.profit from all purchases at She's Lost Control is donated to Crystal Clear - the social enterprise empowering artisanal mining communities. I’m not sure who the target reader is here but it didn’t speak to me, a 40 year old spiritual woman. Abell, a celebrated National Geographic photographer with a 35-year career, now lives in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains.

I do think it’s helpful to flip ahead to the prompts as you start your month to have them in the back of your mind as you go about your weeks . It was structured around students creating and guiding their own creative pursuits, and to design a degree around that.I realized the evolving sets of monthly prompts could be templates to be shared and exchanged with others. Loosely organized around the phases of the moon and punctuated with references to ’70s astrology, architecture, and art, Moon Lists encourages journalers to stop and reflect on the precious moments in their lives before time passes them by. We asked Leigh some questions about the project and the book to find out a little more about the purpose of a moon list and how it can be a tool for self-care.

I am not great at balance in many ways but I think I am good at maintaining a healthy enough distance from this specific project… I do not feel any pressure to make it something it is not. We believe in the enduring power of exceptional products and this has inspired us to curate a collection of Old Faithful pieces – trusty, well-built heirlooms that embody timeless design and only grow more valuable with usage.

The routine practice of asking yourself these questions is an exercise in drawing the connection between memory and experience, a reminder that daily choices matter, habits are defining, and objects can hold layers of meaning. Loosely organized around the phases of the moon and punctuated with references to ’70s astrology, architecture, and art, Moon Lists encourages journalers to stop and reflect on the precious moments in their lives before time passes them by. The Moon Lists is a new way to journal: Filled with 18 months of exercises for breaking through creative, emotional, and transitional roadblocks, it introduces a routine practice of digging below the surface to explore parts of the mind + present tense that are new, unknown, and full of possibility. We spoke with Leigh about the inspiration behind this project and the importance of making time for deep and unexpected modes of thinking.
