What this book does offer, however, is a multitude of honestly intriguing and thought-provoking life lessons; it is a quick and delightful read. I feel like I learned more about myself and Buddhism in these pages, and also gained a sense of hopefulness for the future.

After all the maniacal googling I didn't manage to find anything better than this photo, but I think it's the Real HHC. What ensues is a journey to discover her own true nature, to gain a deeper understanding of her mind, and to experience life’s greatest joy, the here and now.

Actually, speaking of karma, when I was reading this some chaotic things were happening in my life and it was very opportune that I was able to read and learn about ways to stay mindful, loving and patient while dealing with them. On Mindful Safari we combine game drives and magical encounters with lion, elephant, giraffe, and other iconic wildlife, with inner journeys exploring the nature of our own mind. This is relevant because perhaps the one word that sets Tibetan Buddhism apart from all other traditions is ‘bodhichitta. The sale of customised goods or perishable goods, sealed audio or video recordings, or software, which has been opened. Among the unexpected joys I have felt, writing this series, has been to discover how much little HHC, Snow Lion, or Rinpoche – she is a cat of many names – and the cast of characters around her, have engaged reader’s hearts as well as minds.

You’ll hear from me once or twice a month with blogs and other news designed to be stimulating and useful. I don't think doctors have a lot of training in nutrition, but I would have thought that Buddhists would have taken some time to study this. The narrator cat immediately experiences the foundation of Buddhist thought; `compassion for all living things'; in action when the Dalai Lama rescues her - half-drowned, starving and near dead - from the gutters of New Delhi.

I think that no matter what your religious beliefs are, or if you do not have any religious beliefs at all, there are things we can all learn from Buddhism.

Though the theme of the book is Buddhism, I believe it will appeal equally to the spiritual as well as the non-spiritual readers. You don't feel like you're reading a book about buddhism at all, and you're not really, but the reader should acknowledge and contemplate the basic principles in there and take something a little more out of it than just any other novel. He has a way of writing that holds your interest and makes you want to hear more about the teachings of the Dalai Lama. The only sadness I had was when I came to the end of the series…how I wish I could learn more from little Snow Lion. The book is the story of HHC, of how she found herself to be the pet and companion to the Dalai Lama.
