The engine mounts are very rigid and there's enough length of pipe and available flex between the engine and rear mount that most modes can be discounted I would suggest. whilst a neat execution, the question in my mind is why are the majority of car exhausts suspended on rubber rather than having through bolts? The very rear bobbin type mounting rubber on every mini made until the introduction of a rubber hanger strap in 1992. The only concern I have is the possibility of the nyloc nut walking off as you can't clamp it down hard, but think this is extremely unlikely. If so, where did you get the rubber seal that's sandwiched between the arch and the body, and did it have to go on at the same time as the arch?I think this is just a box which has been modded to fix the exhaust system Not sure if you can fix it without making new exhaust mounts. Assuming it's an RC40 (I wouldn't know, it looks like it could be though) would this kit contain all the bits I'd need?

I replaced my perished exhaust bobbin with one from a local motor factors but 6 months on it looks as bad as the one it replaced. The imperial size may have been true at one point but many motor factors now supply these with a metric thread and nuts to suit (certainly Halfords does). I used a nyloc nut and inserted the bolt from above so it wouldn't tend to fall out even if the nut came off. Thanks, I have 4 now of slightly different sizes but all fit ok, it's amazing how hard they are to get hold of around my way.Moz's comment about rubber products sounds familiar - I changed the steering rack gaiters for boxed and branded QH ones last year and they're already starting to go at the edge. I planned to sandwich each of the 26mm wide rubber bushes between 25mm M8 stainless penny washers to distribute the load evenly.
