About this deal

A Bluetooth input rounds out the feature set that exposes the Link2 as quite the step up from the AirPlay-only Link1. November 9, 2022in Audio / Equipment / News tagged Audio Pro / Link 2 / Network Streamer by fromvinyltoplastic Streaming service support includes; Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect. Additional streaming services and USB storage device streaming is handled by Audio Pro’s own Control app.

Audio Pro has announced a second-generation Link network streamer. The Swedish company’s Link2 ditches the circular form factor of the more affordable original in favour of a rectangular box that’s closer in shape and size (36mm x 180mm x 126mm) to Schiit’s series of mini components than the Link1. The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc. Different routers provide different levels of performance. Please use a good wireless router to achieve the best possible performance. You can also stream into multiple if you have other wireless speakers via Audio Pro or if you have AirPlay2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect or Tidal Connect giving you plenty of streaming options.

Tech Specs

In addition to the multiroom streaming functionality offered by Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Cast, Audio Pro’s Control app can also send the output of a turntable’s phono stage – connected to its analogue input – to a second Link2 placed elsewhere in the home. The second version of the Scandinavian company’s streaming device gets a new form factor, an upgrade in features, but still adheres to the same philosophy as before in taking your old analogue equipment and bringing it into the modern age. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products (including amplifiers) that produce heat. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the product.

Audio Pro has made speakers from their Swedish HQ since 1978. Their current product range has received many awards and includes wireless speakers, multi room audio and powerful subwoofers with a range of sizes and colours available. Audio pro C10's are beautiful things and they sound great. Rich well balanced with good bass. The C5 is a bit too full & bassy. Having owned guitar amps and well made hifi equipment, these compete with aplomb, with simple solid boxes with wonderful buttons and knobs. Also, the Link2 supports both Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect, so you can stream direct from those apps to Link2 and onto the speakers of your choice. It’s proved consistent in terms of its tone across various wireless sources, whether Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect or Google Cast (Qobuz) – the difference lies in the details with Spotify (of course) sounding the least defined of the three. The Audio Pro Link 2 is as small a music streamer you’re likely to find. Even the titchy Cambridge MXN10 is bigger in all dimensions. What that essentially means is that you can plonk the Link 2 among the rest of your hi-fi equipment without having to make space for it. My advice (almost always, but especially now) is not to ditch old hi-fi, but to upgrade it as best you can – which is why I think this product is so refreshing.

Hi, Our distributors in Europe are Hama and Aqipa. Which outlets they have changes constantly and we dont have information regarding this." On its fascia are four LED lights that signal which source is in use, although, while the lights are easy to see from afar, the lettering of the actual source is more difficult to ascertain unless you’re up close. Do you currently have a Hi-Fi setup that is letting you down? If that is the case the Audio Pro Link 2 will take care of all your old streaming smarts and let you link your CD player to create a multi-room system. I currently have an Audio Pro C5 for the bedroom, a Audio Pro Allroom 1 in kitchen and three further Audio Pro Link1 adaptors feeding the garden, living room and dining room setups. Now as mentioned earlier in this review data connectivity via the wired ethernet or internal Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 4.2. Provide incoming signals that the Link 2 decodes and are available via optical, coaxial or analogue RCA outputs that drive amplifiers and active speakers. Link 2 can also do this via the digital stream directly to an outboard DAC via its coaxial outputs.

Streaming music from your Audio Pro Link 2 to any of your other speakers that you possess is possible thanks to the Audio Pro App. After that, the Link 2 will appear as a streaming device that you may group, which will enable you to set up a system that is capable of functioning in more than one room. Utilizing this device, you are able to play a playlist in any room of the house. The front panel displays four LED’s indicating the active input. While the top of the Link 2 provides local selection of the inputs, Bluetooth status, power status, volume controls and previous, pause/play and next buttons plus 4 presets.

There are many Brands of this type of equipment. I would put more faith in proven SONOS, or Bluesound, or Cambridge, or many others.Audio Pro speakers communicate via a 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz home network with support for 802.11 b/g/n/ac/ wireless technology. ROUTER Otherwise, you have other means of streaming to the Audio Pro Link 2. It’s covered for Spotify Connect (naturally), Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, built-in Chromecast, and Bluetooth 4.2. There’s no MQA support with Tidal however, nor is there any Roon compatibility like you’d get from the more expensive Cambridge MNX10 network player.
