Description

Here’s a look at the legs, which are articulated, so you can pose the T. Rex skeleton in a bunch of different ways. The T. rex skeleton with base measures over 5 in. (13 cm) high, 11 in. (29 cm) long and 3.5 in. (9 cm) wide. Together with the other builds and minifigures, it’s great for everyday play. Fortunately, the colour scheme is otherwise fairly uniform. Tan and white pieces are combined and they seem reasonable together, as though certain sections of the skeleton are fossil casts while gaps are filled using another material. Furthermore, some recognisable bones are visible here, including the distinctive pelvis and several tail vertebrae. Of course, many more vertebrae would constitute a genuine skeleton, but this permits sufficient articulation. LEGO components satisfy stringent industry standards to ensure simple and secure connections and robust builds.

Dr. Wu's Lab: Baby Dinosaurs Breakout introduced an adorable infant Triceratops and another such dinosaur appears here. However, the original olive green and tan colour scheme has been replaced with sand blue and tan. I prefer the other colours, but appreciate the unique aesthetic on this occasion. The T. rex skeleton is posable so kids can play with it like a normal LEGO® dinosaur toy figure, and it comes with a stand to display it as a museum exhibit. What truly brings this skeleton to life is this excellent new T.Rex skull, with great looking printed details on top of a monochrome tan base. September 2021 marked the release of new Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous LEGO sets, with several sets that should delight fans of LEGO dinosaurs. If you’ve been following the blog for some time, you’d know that I have a long and well-documented love for any set with LEGO Dinosaurs.

Overall

The set provides some decent play value, with the minifigures and the fact that you can easily detach the T. Rex skeleton from its base to “re-animate” it, but at the same time, functions well as a display model. This skeleton measures 29cm in length, while the standard LEGO Tyrannosaurus rex reaches 28cm long. Such consistency between the two dinosaurs is outstanding and one can definitely imagine this skeleton fitting inside the living T. rex, despite their subtle differences in scale. The relative proportions between them also match reasonably well, although their feet vary. If you enjoy LEGO Jurassic World sets, especially LEGO T. Rexes, or if you have a young child that’s obsessed about dinosaurs, this is a no-fuss, and totally enjoyable set. Minifigures are the most redundant parts of LEGO Jurassic World sets, and I have literally lost count of how many Owen Grady minifigures I own, but the set does come with Darius, the protagonist of the series, and an adorable blue baby triceratops.

And last but not least – here’s how the T. Rex SKeleton looks next to the other LEGO Tyrannosaurus Rexes – kudos to the designers for keeping the general dimension, and profile of the T. Rex consistent.Description LEGO 76940 T. rex Dinosaur Fossil Exhibition Fun playset featuring a cool, buildable T. rex skeleton There are minifigures of 2 popular Jurassic World characters –Owen Grady and Darius (from Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous) – to inspire youngsters to role-play as paleontologists and dream up their own exciting stories. Easy-to-follow, illustrated instructions are included so young LEGO fans can build independently and with confidence. Here’s a closer look at both minifigures. Owen Grady is Owen Grady with Chris Pratt’s signature dirty-mo look. This is like the de-facto Owen Grady minifigure, so there’s nothing new here. As it’s meant to be displayed on its platform, you can easily remove it and the T. Rex skeleton functions pretty well as a standalone re-animated skeleton dinosaur, and the posable knees and hips give you plenty of options on how you want to pose it. For a fairly inexpensive LEGO Jurassic World set, 76940 T. Rex Dinosaur Fossil Exhibition is a fun little afternoon dalliance, giving you a unique (for now) take on the LEGO T. Rex in the form of a fossilised skeleton.
