YouTube Kids– The curated child-focused version of YouTube, that only holds age-appropriate content. XITE – A free music videos app that offers a “personalised video experience”, where you can build playlists catered to you. Linear channels are accessed via the device’s Electronic Programme’s Guide (similar to how it works on Sky Q or a Freeview box) – but instead of coming to you via an aerial or a satellite dish – all channels are streamed via broadband. Peloton –A subscription-based workout and fitness app, where you can watch (and take part in) studio-style workouts.

One of Sky’s 4K QLED TV’s prominent features is the ability to stream Freeview channels (as well as Sky’s own channels) via broadband – without an aerial or a satellite dish. That was a significant change for Sky, along with the promise of contract-free content (so you don’t have to get a fixed long-term contract with Glass).My5: Channel 5’s streaming and catch-up app was curiously missing from Stream for a long time – but it was finally added in 2023. ITVX – The catch-up and box-sets streaming app from ITV, with thousands of shows and films, including many exclusive productions. ITVX On Sky Glass GolfPass –A subscription-based service that brings you golf tuition from the world’s best players and coaches as well as exclusive shows, Golf Channel films, programming, original content and live feeds. Some notable apps that we would love to see on Sky Glass in the future, but are currently missing, are Pluto TV, Plex, Twitch and others. Also, the list isn’t even identical to Sky Q’s list of apps and channels – but the differences aren’t as big these days.

PlayWorks –Games that you can play directly on your TV screen, by using the Sky Stream remote. The games include classics like Tetris, Solitaire and Mah Jongg, as well as mobile hits like Doodle Jump and Crossy Road. But if you buy the TV, and then stop your Sky subscription at some point – you might want the cheaper option to watch some of Sky’s content. Well, that’s not possible (also see our full comparison of Sky Glass VS NOW). Sky Glass: Freeview And Sky Channels Discovery+– The streaming service that replaced Discovery’s Dplay (which was totally free), with a combined offering of both free and “premium”channels. Sky Stream (as well as Sky Q and Sky Glass) customers can currently get Discovery+ at no extra cost. Sky Glass shares a lot with its young brother, Sky Stream, which Sky launched last year – including the list of available channels and apps, and the way it records some content to the cloud. And as strange as it sounds, it also would have been useful to have a NOW (Formerly NOW TV) app on Sky Glass – Yes, Sky’s TV is all about streaming directly from Sky with a Sky subscription.The streaming-based TV from Sky, Sky Glass has been around since 2021, marking the first step in Sky’s shift towards streaming services. In addition to Sky’s channels and the Freeview channels, it also includes streaming apps – much like other streaming devices. The same can be said about the selection of Freeview channels on Sky Glass – most of the major ones are available, but some, including a few popular channels like SportyStuff TV, That’s TV and the NOW music channels that you can normally get with an aerial– are still missing. Freeview On Sky Glass However, note that some content partners won’t show up as “apps”, but instead require a direct subscription via Sky – BT Sport is one such example.

Vevo – The ultimate place to watch official music videos and live performances – with some being exclusive to the service. BBC Sounds –The BBC radio app, which includes both live versions of BBC’s radio channels, as well as a rich library of podcasts and radio dramas. BBC Sounds Disney+ – The popular streaming subscription service from Disney, with content from the worlds of Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic, as well as more “mature” content in its Star category ( see our Disney+ review).Prime Video also offers many Prime Video Channels, which is a way to get some channels that are otherwise missing from Sky. LIONSGATE+– A subscription-based localised streaming-only version of the US premium channel Starz, with premium TV shows and films. Spotify –The popular music streaming service, with more than 60 million songs – there’s a free tier (with adverts), and a Premium paid tier.

STV Player – The on-demand video streaming service of the popular Scottish broadcaster, with box-sets and exclusive programmes. As with Sky Stream, Glass uses broadband to deliver Freeview, Sky and other premium TV channels to your TV. Channel 4 (Previously All4) – The catch-up and streaming app from Channel 4, where you can watch live streaming of the channels, as well as thousands of box-sets from the past.Since its launch, Sky has added several additional streaming apps to Sky Glass that weren’t there in the beginning.
