Description

Print bed leveling is an important requirement for good 3D printing. Since you need to perform the leveling regularly, it is extremely convenient if the 3D printer has a sensor for automatic print bed leveling. On the right side of the printer, an LCD display attached to the gantry lets you directly operate the device. The rotating dial lets you navigate the menu and select the printing settings in just a few steps. Build volume determines the size of the prints you can create, so is a feature well worth mulling over before pulling out your credit card. The Ender 3 V2 has a 220 x 220 x 250 mm build volume, while the Ender 5 Pro offers a slightly larger 220 x 220 x 300 mm. During my testing, the air-duct performed very well, managing to provide adequate cooling in most situations, so I’m happy with the change made by Creality in this regard.

When the printer boots you may see the TH3D logo on your LCD, printers with low-end CPUs may not show a TH3D logo but all will show a Marlin screen with TH3D Studio showing on the version information. Reset your EEPROM! # All three Ender 5 printers come in semi-assembled DIY kits. As these go, the steps are straightforward, well-guided, and painless. We estimate no more than 45 to 1 hour from beginning to end. Due to its size, the Ender 5 Plus has a few more pieces to contend with but nothing to cause any concern. Price The Ender 3 V2 sports a maximum extruder temperature of 255°C and a maximum bed temperature of 110°C. The Ender 5 Pro features a maximum nozzle temperature of 260°C and a maximum bed temperature of 110°C.

User-friendly Features

Bed Strain Relief: it is a support structure for the heated bed wires. It reduces the risk of damage while increasing printer safety. Resume printing Function: Creality Ender-5 Plus 3D Printer resume printing while power-off, the motherboard is fully upgraded and supports continuous power failure, which effectively reduces model scrapping caused by power outages. If you’re new to 3D printing, the Ender 3 V2 cuts down that initial learning curve a few pegs but keeps the core Ender 3 spirit of tinkering and upgrading to get the very best out of the machine. It’s an iconic printer refined, adding even more value to an already affordable machine. Ender 5 Pro Ender 5 Pro Specs All in all, the Ender 3 and Ender 5 are on par with one another when it comes to filament compatibility. Modifiability & Upgrades This is where the steep learning curve begins. You really need to learn a lot about slicer settings and what they do. You really have to do your homework and learn things such as nozzle maintenance, E-Steps, PID tuning. travel, part cooling, supports, etc. You'll especially want to learn how to calibrate your printer with test prints such as the temperature tower to see how your filament really works at varying temperatures.

The result of the detailed comparison between the Ender-5 S1 and the Ender-5 Pro is that the Ender-5 S1 is better in just about everything. The Ender 5 Pro is ever so slightly more suited to more temperature-sensitive materials like nylon that require hotter nozzle temperature to print well. Bottom line

Flashing your printer firmware is pretty easy once you go through the installation steps one or two times. We’ve simplified the firmware setup as much as possible so you don’t have to be an expert with code. Our firmware allows you to get more control over your printer, make repairs easier, add on upgrades, and really get into tuning your machine to make it print better.

The Creality 3D Ender 5 is an FDM 3D printer kit. It uses Fused Modeling Technology, an additive manufacturing method that consists in melting a filament of thermoplastic and depositing it layer by layer in a pattern. The filament is pushed through a heated single extruder via a Bowden feeder mechanism. The tight entry of the Bowden tube makes it difficult to insert the filament into the route. Cutting the consumable in a steep angle might facilitate the task. Test results from Creality Lab show that printing a 3DBenchy takes only 54 minutes at the maximum speed, saving 50% of the time compared to printing at 50 mm/s. When the Creality Ender-5 S1 arrives, it does require a little assembly, but with a clear set of instructions, the whole machine can be built in around 10-20 minutes. There's nothing intricate to assemble, and the main bulk of the construction has already been done for you; you need to bolt in the uprights, install the tool head and then wire everything in. At each step, the instructions are clear, and for the most part, it's impossible to plug any of the wires into the wrong place. Even with no prior experience, there should be nothing here to challenge a complete novice. The Ender 5 shows an open-frame extruded aluminum cubic structure. When properly assembled, it results in a rigid and sturdy construction. The open design eliminates the risk of collision between the hot bed and the frame, an issue frequently encountered when printing with the Ender 3.

What’s In The Box?

So, what does the higher price tag land you? Firstly, you get the same cube frame, well-proportioned 220 x 220 x 300 mm build volume and the nippy bed heating of the original Ender 5. From there, the Ender 5 Pro pivots with a V1.15 silent mainboard with TMC2208 drivers for quieter printing compared to the Ender 5. There’s now thermal runaway protection in case things get a little too heated, too. The printing speed of the Ender-5 S1 is twice that of the Ender-5 Pro. This is mainly due to the stable construction, which can withstand high acceleration forces before vibrations occur. First time using our firmware or having issues?
