Description

RJ45 ports support 10/100/1000 Ethernet connections. A WAN port is active only if the corresponding SFP port is empty. By default, the WAN1 port is set to DHCP Client.

The DNAT rule # ranges are from 1-4999, and the Source/Masquerade rule numbers are from 5000-9999. If you wanted to add a port forward (DNAT) in the config.gateway.json for WAN2 in a multiWAN (load-balance) setup, this is what the config.gateway.json would look like with only this particular NAT rule: EdgeRouters have been around a long time, and are still technically supported with hotfixes and occasional software updates. The newer UISP hardware line is the safer bet for long term support, although EdgeRouters still have a lot of feature advantages. Basically a UDM-Pro without the built-in UniFi OS Console, 8-port Ethernet switch, or 3.5” HD bay for UniFi Protect.I was very limited on tools and time, but from what I remember I ended up using a nearby dumb switch, nuking the static IP on the Pi controller, rebooting it, and resetting the USG. (Keeping it completely on it's own network using the dumb switch.) I also made sure the USG was forgotten from the controller.

This article is not applicable to the UniFi Dream Machine models, because all configurations are already available in the UniFi Network user interface. When making changes via the config.gateway.json file, it is best to enter only the customizations that cannot be performed via the Network application. If the formatting is incorrect, a provisioning loop will be triggered on the USG, and a reboot will take place once the USG comes out of the provisioning loop. At this point the config.gateway.json file could be corrected or removed to correct this. Before: our original deployment included a single Unifi Switch 24 aggregator switch, the entry-level USG, the original Cloud Key hardware controller, and three UAP‑HD access points. I would still recommend these devices as a starter kit for those that want to deploy Unifi in a residential setting but substituting the Unifi nanoHD access points if cost is an issue. Standard 16 PoE

So, many people have asked what is the benefit of using a UXG-Pro, we’ll be covering that in a separate ‘vs’ article, but in this one we are comparing the brand new UXG-Pro and the previous USG-Pro-4. Ubiquiti still sells almost all of the 1st generation models of UniFi switches. They are older, but they can be better options for some networks. Unlike with the USG/USG-Pro, the 1st generation switches come without major performance limitations. Older Desktop/Small Switches

Features four 10 Gbps RJ45 Ethernet with PoE++ out. The Enterprise 8 PoE or Flex XG may be better options. The UXG-Pro should be able to handle the same levels of connections as the UDM-Pro, which with IDS and IPS disabled can do 3.5Gbps.

Dream Machine

Only time will tell how the development goes for the UXG-Pro. If you have an existing UniFi network with your own controller, this is probably going to be a better fit that the UDM or UDM-Pro. The unannounced base UXG should be a good little router, if Ubiquiti can get the software right. We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons: The XG 16 has twelve 10 Gbps SFP+ slots and four 10 Gbps RJ45 Ethernet. The 2nd generation Aggregation, XG, or Enterprise models may be better options.
