Description

Automatic calendar which will always display the correct date, on traditional watches you have to manually adjust the date to account for the varying amount of days in each month.

At the bottom of the screen is the text denoting the 100m water resistance of the rugged watch. At the top is the branding Casio in all capped text and the advertisement of the 10-year battery life in red text. Elapsed time, split time and final time are measured with 1/100-sec accuracy. The watch can measure times of up to 24 hours. Pressing the “Mode” button once, we advance to the alarm function of the movement. Setting the alarm is easy. Holding down the “Adjust” button starts the “setting mode” for all functions, including the alarm function. Powering the watch is a Japanese quartz movement. This is a reliable movement that offers a good level of accuracy for the price. The accuracy of this movement is approximately +/- 30 seconds per month. The watch also features newly developed electronics which ensure a significantly lower energy consumption meaning that 1 battery can give the watch up to 10 years on life, very impressive stuff. There are several places around the world where time zones are differentiated by half hours rather than full hours (and a couple are even offset by 45 minutes!). Newfoundland here in Canada is 30 minutes ahead of Atlantic Time (1.5 hours ahead of Eastern Time). In Australia, the three main time zones are separated by 1.5 and 0.5 hours rather than by a single hour between each pair of time zones. (It fits their geography better.) If you dig deeply enough, there is even a small corner of Australia that is 45 minutes ahead of one neighbour and 45 minutes behind the other neighbour! See:The W-800H’s case starts with a restrained 36.8mm case diameter, with lugs extending to 44.2mm. The watch offers no overhang, even on my 6-inch wrist. Legendary Japanese electronics company Casio is loved for its range of innovative and reliable watches. Casio offers both analogue and digital watches for men and women in a variety of styles and colours, perfect for everyday wear, sportswear and more adventurous activities. The strap is not hard at all and is very flexible. It is easy to put on and tighten, and it provides a secure fit. Perfect for swimming and snorkelling: the watch is water resistant to 10 bar according to ISO 22810.

This Casio watch also has a very good water resistance rating of 100. The 100m or 10 bar rating makes this watch suitable for recreational surfing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing and water sports. Casio W-800H-1AVES Watch Specifications You can even change the minutes of the dual time to differ from your home time if you want to (though I honestly don’t know why you would).” Looking closer at the W-800H, we get a glimpse of what makes a Casio a Casio. Strewn along the screen’s periphery are printed set texts showcasing the various functions of the watch: Adjust, Mode, Light, and 12/24H. Casio was founded after the end of World War II in 1946. Tadao Kashio started by producing mechanical parts by himself until his brothers joined him. The small family operation started off by making calculators for the domestic market. The point I’m trying to make here, is you’re polling a system intended to measure time with an previously unknown duration to determine if you’ve reached a known, fixed duration. That’s the job of an event-based (interrupt) system.

Synthetic resin is the ideal material for wrist straps thanks to its extremely durable and flexible properties.

The 3240 movements are powered by a simple CR2025 battery. With the case being held down by four screws, changing the battery would be fairly simple. Of course, you probably won’t have to worry about that for the first ten years or so. W-800H Strap This sports model from Casio features a selection of handy extras. These include a LED light to illuminate the watch face. Second time zone display which can be set for a time zone of your choice. A stop watch function with 1/100 seconds up to 24 hour measurement. To the right, we have three acronyms — SNZ, ALM, and SIG. SNZ signals the snooze function when setting the alarm of the watch, with ALM being the sign of the alarm toggle. SIG is the (in)famous hourly beep the watch can emit at the top of the hour.

The second function is a stopwatch that’s accurate to the 1/100th of a second. Pressing the “Mode” button moves us to the stopwatch. Starting and stopping the stopwatch is easy with just the press of a button.
