Wrap the paper around the pot maker, overlapping the ends. Make sure not to wrap too tightly, or it will be difficult to remove. There are two main sizes of newspaper pots that we use in the Growfully gardens, medium size origami pots (which you can see being made here), and these handy little newspaper starter pots. They’re breathable and breakable: Why is this a good thing? Well, plants suffer when their roots become root bound—meaning their roots twist and form to the side of the pot. With newspaper pots, the roots of plants can break through the newspaper and either continue to grow, or be air trimmed for healthier plants! It can take hours to completely plant your seedlings the traditional way, or by using inferior products. However, by using the Paper Pot Transplanter you will radically reduce your transplanting time to just a few minutes! Not only that, by using the Paper Pot Transplanter, you will drastically reduce the damage to your body if you’re doing it manually, and the damage to your sanity by using an inferior product. This set makes three different pot sizes: 3cm, 4.75cm and 6cm in diameter, ideal for giving most seedlings a flying start – and all plastic-free. Directions: To use simply cut the paper into strips measuring approx. 9cm x 40cm. Roll the paper loosely around the wooden cylinder three times with 3cm overhanging the end. Fold the overhanging paper into the cavity at the bottom of the cylinder. Press the wooden base plate & cylinder together allowing it to mould the paper into the base shape. Slide the paper off the cylinder and you have a completed pot ready for soil & seeds. ECO-FRIENDLY – No waste. No harm. No repotting like with the plastic pots. Simply make a biodegradable paper pot and plant the whole pot straight into the ground! Above all since the finished paper pot is compostable, it is perfect for growing from seed and to not disturb the seedlings roots!
