With Dominaria's rich history of legendary characters, we wanted to take the opportunity to reimagine some of Legends classic characters. Senior Game Designer Ethan Fleischer used his expansive knowledge of the characters of Legends to design 19 new legendary creatures and one new legendary planeswalker. These 20 cards are designed for Commander play and featured in a traditional foil treatment in one-card Box Topper boosters included with Set, Draft, and Collector Booster displays of Dominaria United. As a note, all the information above holds for 40 of the 41 legendary creatures in the set. With Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, there is both the showcase treatment and a Phyrexian version. So the alternate versions of Sheoldred split the possible occurrences with each other when a variant is due to show up. Textured-Foil Cards Rare cards—one random rare or mythic rare from the main set within the theme's mana color and one rare that is designed for Jumpstart Boosters Collector Boosters are the best way to collect the most exciting cards from Dominaria United . . .and from Dominaria's history. While Collector Boosters are always the best place to find rare and mythic rare Booster Fun cards, Dominaria United Collector Boosters are extra special. Set Boosters are also a great way to adventure through the plane of Dominaria, as all the common and uncommon cards are connected to each other, and they help tell the story of the invasion and defense of this glorious plane. Set Boosters also drop an art card, and in Dominaria United Set Boosters, signed art cards appear twice as often as in previous standard-legal Set Boosters.

In Dominaria United, every single Set, Draft, and Collector Booster comes with a guaranteed legendary creature. Likewise, every Set Booster display comes with a special traditional foil Legends Retold Box Topper. Legends Retold is a series of 20 legendary creatures from Dominaria's history with totally new designs, inspired by 1994's Legends, that are Commander legal. Dominaria United Jumpstart Boosters come in ten different themes, and each includes a card describing its theme. Plus, you will find both a rare and a rare or mythic rare card: New Magic players can visit their local WPN store to receive a Welcome Booster. As we return to Magic's home in Dominaria United and begin to explore Magic's history with our next set The Brother's War and Magic's future in 2023, now is a great time to introduce a friend to Magic: The Gathering!There are five uncommons, ten rares, and five mythic rare Legends Retold cards. In the Box Topper boosters, you will get a foil uncommon 37.5% of the time, a foil rare 50% of the time, and a foil mythic rare 12.5% of the time. Every Collector Booster has a single dedicated Legends Retold uncommon slot that splits evenly between a non-foil and a foil-etched version. In addition, the Collector Booster has two more slots that could have the ten rare and five mythic rare Legends Retold cards either in foil etched or non-foil, along with a number of other potential Booster Fun rares and mythic rares. As these two slots have lots of goodness, I will note that the maximum number of foil-etched Legends Retold cards in a Collector Booster is two. There are six rare dual lands in Dominaria United. They can be found in Draft, Set, and Collector Boosters in both foil and non-foil. Extended-Art Rares and Mythic Rares According to senior game designer Ethan Fleischer, that makes it an ideal place to start if you're new to MTG. Like with Set and Collector Booster displays, every Draft Booster display comes with a special traditional foil Legends Retold Box Topper, where you can find one of 20 new legendary creatures inspired by Legends. This set is big on lore, too. Fleischer points out that "the worldbuilding resources that we’ve brought to bear on Dominaria United exceeds any previous efforts for that plane, or indeed any other. We've added the factions of New Argive and Sheoldred's Phyrexian Sleeper Agents to the ten factions from the previous Dominaria set [released in 2018], which already incorporated twice as much worldbuilding as any other Magic setting".

But that's not all. Collector Boosters will still be the home of at least five rares and mythic rares in every booster, with tons of Booster Fun variants, including extended-art treatments and stained-glass textured foils. Get in and get playing fast with Dominaria United Jumpstart Boosters—just open two Jumpstart Boosters, shuffle them together, and play! The five new rares designed for Dominaria United Jumpstart Boosters can also be found in Set Boosters, in both foil and non-foil, as well as in an extended-art version in Collector Boosters. If you're the type of person that likes to collect shiny things, you'll also be pleased to know that it includes unique Land cards that renders each of the iconic symbols as if it was a stained glass window. Dominaria United Draft Boosters are designed for that perfect Draft or Sealed play experience, but just like Set and Collector Boosters, every single Draft Booster in Dominaria United contains a legendary creature, perfect for defending the plane from a threat to the Multiverse. These boosters are optimized for fun and competitive gameplay, and they continue to include a rare or mythic rare in every booster, and plenty of Booster Fun treatments.
