Description

If you find your Karcher pressure washer leaking, it’s usually because some part of the device is worn out or loose. You may choose to repair the part, but in most cases, changing it is a better option to breathe new life into your pressure washer. FAQ a) Why is your Karcher pressure washer leaking oil?

But here’s a word of warning! If you’re not experienced in handling hardware or don’t feel confident, don’t wing it. If your Karcher device is still within its warranty period, it’s better to take advantage of the company’s customer support system. As a result, the pump’s ability to hold or pressurise water is compromised. If your pump looks fine and the pressure washer is fairly new and seldom used, it might be a pump assembly issue causing water or oil leakage. How to Fix – Here’s a YouTube video that describes the process. This should help fix the problem if you find any Karcher pressure washer leaking at hose connection. 2. Leakage from Outlet Hose or Trigger Wand Connection You’ll need to pull the pump up slightly, which will allow you to pull out the outlet connector for its replacement – or change the O ring. I asked a question on here about 3 or 4 months ago, as having not used my pressure washer for some months it had started leaking. It made a rattling noise when I moved it. It was suggested the fault might be the O Rings. I have a Karcher extension hose between the front of the unit and the pressure gun. That has seized onto the pressure washer, and however hard i try i cannot shift it. As a result I hadn't got round to stripping the washer.

Then, disassemble the pump further to separate the valves, upper oil seals, injector cage, spring, and injector valve. If you find your Karcher K4 leaking from bottom or connection parts, here’s a video to show you how to pull out the pump before disassembling it.

If the couple is damaged, it will need to be replaced the same way as the inlet cover – and if the coupling is intact, the O ring inside needs replacing. O rings are easily available, and the replacement process is pretty straightforward. If your pressure washer has an undamaged pump and inlet/outlet seals, the piston seals might be damaged. Karcher pressure washers have a positive displacement pump with pistons to pressure and draw the incoming water supply and force it out through the cleaning nozzle.

Also, detach the chemical injection tube, the metal clamping plate, and the switch assembly to free the pump from the loosened piston assembly. You can pull apart the manifold and the lower part of the pump.
