PCP and CO2 air rifles are particularly prone to rust. CO2 is the biggest culprit. This is due to moisture caused by the compressed bursts of air or CO2 and the temperature differences that occur. It’s not necessarily a major issue, but you’ll find these two airgun types susceptible. It’s easy to think about cleaning your air rifle during the times you are using it, but if you are going to be putting it away for awhile a little extra oil is great for protection. A LITTLE!
