About this deal

All you’ll need for this sauce are six ingredients. And you probably have them in your fridge and pantry already. Although it would make sense for the grown-ups to eventually worry that something scandalous would happen between me and one of the Hollis boys down in the secluded basement, no one batted a lash. My mother was normally incredibly strict about boundaries, but we were family, after all.” I was buying the one in the jar for years after I tried another recipe that just tasted like butter and took a while to make. I’m not even sure how to finish the sentence. I want to be happy, and I’m petrified that the path I’m on now is going to leave me bored and alone.

Leave it to Christina Lauren to come up with a lovely, sweet, romantic Christmas Story that is somewhat fresh and new in “In a Holidaze.” While there were a few parts of this novel that I think were extraneous, all in all, I truly enjoyed this story and loved the characters of Benny, Mae and Andrew. If you’re looking for a magical read that will be sure to make you smile, this is it! I also found it absolutely ludicrous that Maisie’s parents let her sleep completely unsupervised in the basement with their friends’ sons. Maisie remarks that her mom is usually very concerned with safety and propriety for her daughter, and is apparently a big Catholic too, but isn’t concerned about anything to happen to her daughter when she sleeps in the same room with two teenage boys “because they’re family.” O-kay. I found this completely unbelievable, and not just because Maisie has been in love with Andrew since she was thirteen, which clearly highlights that she does not see him as a brother, but because bad things happen to kids even among blood families all the time. I don't read many romance novels these days, but every once in awhile, I get the urge to delve into something sweet and heartwarming. In a Holidaze was the perfect choice. Putting my disbelief at how hard In a Holidaze was pushing the found family agenda, I also struggled with the characterization of the two brothers Andrew and Theo. Theo, who Maisie was closest to growing up, is a womanizer and a playboy, who runs on compliments. He is also a complete jerk to Maisie in the original timeline where she makes out with him for half a second, only to reject his further advances. Meanwhile, Andrew is characterized as “the good one” or “the perfect one,” who doesn’t date casually, is patient, kind, and nerdy. But in all actuality, he wasn’t that great either beyond their cute flirting. I really didn’t care for the fact that when Maisie confessed her feelings to him, he basically responded that he never considered it because she was “supposed” to be for Theo. But it doesn’t take much time at all for him to get adjusted to the idea and the two are making out in closets in no time. I just didn’t find this romantic or special, because it made me wonder if he would’ve accepted any confession like this, not just Maisie’s. A book begging to be read on the beach, with the sun warming the sand and salt in the air: pure escapism.A novel of terrible first impressions, hilarious second chances, and the joy in finding your perfect match.

Overall, despite the less than original set-up, and the glutted Rom-Com market, this turned out to be only the second book of the season that feels festive enough to lift my holiday spirits. Yes. The dynamic writing duo of Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings (aka Christina Lauren) has written a fun and romantic tale filled with lovable characters that is sure to melt the Scroogiest of hearts.

By no means, though, should my criticisms stop you from doing whatever it takes to get your hands on In a Holidaze. The novel is so joyful. So heartwarming. So filled with laughter and starry-eyed Christmas romance. and im also a huge fan of the whole childhood trope. two MCs have know each other their entire lives, grew up together, and now are seeing each other differently? yes, sign me up. the banter, the chemistry, the tension. all perfection. A sizzling, standalone, feel-good holiday romance from Tessa Bailey, New York Times bestselling author of It Happened One Summer. So here are two options for reheating – just be cautious! A steamy new rom-com about a starchy professor and the bubbly neighbor he clashes with at every turn...

I’ve been in a very “bah humbug” mood for the past week or so, and decided maybe a sweet Christmas read would snap me out of it. So I grabbed a copy of In A Holidaze. This year, however things are different. Mae is different and she wishes for what she wants most in this world. Unfortunately for her, she makes a mistake that has major ramifications. Mae, of course, is crushed. Awww, first of all, I love that Chelsea cheered you up so much by giving you this book. What a wonderful surprise! More importantly (read: pathetically), I’ve never been into Theo, primarily because I’ve had a crazy, silent, soul-crushing crush on his older brother for what feels like my whole life. Andrew is kind, warm, gorgeous, and hilarious. He is playful, flirty, creative, and affectionate. He is also deeply principled and private, and I’m pretty sure there’s nothing that would turn him off a woman faster than knowing she made out with his younger, womanizing brother while under the influence of eggnog.A classic plot plus Lauren's trademark snark and steam add up to a winning rom-com full of heart and holiday cheer. So glad you loved this one! I loved the humor and all the Christmas activities. And the cast of characters was amazing. I want to spend the holidays with these people! It was great to see Mae step outside her comfort zone and make some big changes. Even though her mother married with another man, she is still dedicated to the tradition and spending the holiday with her father and her 17 years old brother as if they’re still happy family. And of course the best thing about the holiday is seeing Andrew: her 13 years longtime crush. She never dares to confess her feelings. Mae Jones is many things, a daughter, a sister, a best friend and a time traveler! You heard me right!! Sounds insane? I thought so too but the crazier thing is...it works for this book! I was hoping that Mae would recover from her "condition" and be able to enjoy the holiday! Mae has two besties in life and they happen to be two boys she grew up with that turned out to be total gorgeous guys in her eyes. One more than the other. Is Mae going to get her heart broke? Is there going to be a bit of Christmas magic? Guys grab this one and find out. It is bound to put a smile on your face! In an Earphones Award-winning performance, narrator Eilidh Beaton delivers Christmas at the Island Hotel (Mure, Book 4) by Jenny Colgan. Imagine the joy and the stress of holidays on a small island somewhere between Scotland and Norway as a disparate group of workers struggle to open a new hotel. Unlikely romance among the staff is just one of the pleasures of this accent-rich gem.
