Description

Partly because I’ve never been in one, and mostly because whatever Maeve and I have defies the norms of what any rational person would consider to be one.” Alex Kydd is a Tri-State Area-based actor specializing in contemporary and classical theater. His passion for performing began in his early teens and has progressed into a lifetime motivation. Classically trained, Alex attended The William Esper Studio in New York City. This was such a fun YA romance about two high school rivals that fall in love against all odds. I didn’t love the miscommunication/ third act break up, but then I had to remind myself that the MCs are in high school and what happened can be quite realistic. I also wished for some more development with the side characters! Still, I do recommend this and really enjoyed the book on audio! Money buys power, and power always has a price. The fear of those who already possess both? Losing it. The best way to ensure keeping it? Alliances. And elites don’t marry down—they marry equal. Also, the fact that the twin-brother chastised the heroine and said she "could've let down his bestie easier" tells you all about the toxicity of this character. The fact that he gets his own love-story next bothers me.

If my feelings for Maeve have taught me anything, it’s that sometimes you love the people you shouldn’t. Because I do. Love her. Even though there are a lot of reasons why I probably shouldn’t.The fuel for the fury that makes him such a dominant force on the ice. The reason he ignores her as resolutely as she pretends he doesn’t exist. The history they share but didn’t write. the fact maeve was also like well known and popular. usually in these type of books its like popular football boy and nerd girl. (I also enjoy that btw) but it was refreshing to see an actual match. I’ve heard a lot of things about Weston Cole. He’s popular. Conceited. Obnoxious. Most importantly, he’s spent the past three years steadily dismantling my family’s football legacy. I should hate him. And I did. Until I encountered him freshman year and discovered he’s also troubled. Captivating. Considerate. When our paths cross again senior year, that knowledge becomes even more dangerous than his suggestive smirk. Hating him was easy. Before I met him.

Charlotte lives in Rhode Island and when she isn’t writing spends her free time reading, at the beach, or snuggling with her Australian Shepard. I'm confused about the rating tbh. Everything that had to do SOLELY with the main couple was greatly written, full of sweet moments, mutual support and respect. It was an adorable first love kind of story. This author knows how to bring to people together in a believable way, if only she wouldn't also include third act break ups in her stories 🤣😅 His friends were shitty too, they care more about the football game than how Wes was feeling. The boy was heartbroken and they told him not let it ruin the game??? READ THE ROOMYes, sometimes, on occasion, you will find me reading a M/F book, like Kiss Now, Lie Later - no judgments, please. It wasn't that bad, per se, but the rival angle seemed a bit of a stretch, because while the couple's relationship was a secret, due to the rivalry and enmity between their two respective schools, the resolution of said conflict was rather softly-handled. Saylor’s goals have always involved the literal kind constructed from posts and netting. Her single-minded focus has cost her a lot, but it’s also earned her recognition as the top female college player in the US. She doesn’t get attached, she never gets distracted, and she could care less what anyone thinks of her. I loved them, but I hated the third act breakup. Matt, her brother’s best friend KISSES HER and it gets blown out of proportion when Wes finds out and accuses her of cheating. He lashes out, breaks up with her and kisses the girl he told her not to worry about… yeah I screamed when he did that. Technically they were on a break but I was so pissed that he got drunk and kissed her because he saw Maeve was there. It was unfair to her because she genuinely didn’t cheat and he didn’t even give her a chance to explain before kissing someone else. While I’m glad it was resolved, Im disappointed that it happened. SHE CHOSE WES OVER HER BROTHER. I thought Liam was going to come to terms with their relationship but he issued an ultimatum and she didn’t choose her twin brother. I cant wait for his book because I hope the tension gets resolved and he eventually learns to get along with Wes.

C. W. Farnsworth is the author of numerous adult and young adult romance novels featuring sports, strong female leads, and happy endings. Charlotte lives in Rhode Island and when she isn't writing spends her free time reading, at the beach, or snuggling with her Australian Shepard. I also had a lot of fun getting to know both characters’ sets of friends. We don’t spend loads of time with each group since our main characters are always sneaking away to see each other, but I appreciated the time we had with them. Wes and Maeve met in secret majority of the time but I adored when she came to the final game in his jersey to support him 💞💘. It basically showed everyone that they needed to mind their business and she was going to love him despite the rivalry in the town, which was so unserious really. Why is her father, a grown adult holding some vendetta over a teenage boy? Liam, I understand but her father was so dramatic but I’m glad that Wes talked to him at the end and called him out for not being at Maeve’s games 🥅 ⚽️. My girl deserved better, especially because she’s so talented. I loved her so much, and she’s extremely dedicated to the sport. Lastly, I wish I could have gotten to know Mauve's twin, Liam, a little better. Or he at least could have had more screen time. He's basically only mentioned in passing until the very end which I was sad about. To be such an important person in Mauve's life, we hardly ever see him.

I love this book, but the ending???? It did not feel like the end. I was reading and thinking i still have a couple of chapters and then „The end“??? WHAT!!!Maybe im just sad that I finished. It was a fast read which makes me even sadder. This book is exactly what i love to read and i wish there would be more to it.This book will be at the top of my list and I will be re-reading it.

I’ve heard a lot of things about Weston Cole. Popular. Conceited. Supercilious. He’s spent the last three years steadily dismantling my family’s legacy. I should hate him. And I did. Until I encountered him freshman year and discovered he’s also troubled. Captivating. Audacious. And when I come across him again senior year, it turns out that knowledge is even more dangerous than his suggestive smirk…THIS BOOK SHATTERED EVERY PART OF ME. I loved it, it was filled with moments of fear of sadness, as a sufferer of daddy issues literally. I resonated with this book, she was overlooked so much, put second when she was just as amazing as her brother. And it hardened my heart that Wes was the only one supporting her, looking out for her. He showed her love, when her own father didn’t even show it. Piper Egan landed her dream job straight out of college—working at Empire Records. But instead of discovering new talent and changing lives, like she’d hoped, her time is spent taking meeting notes and catering to spoiled celebrities. When the chance to change that finally appears, she should be thrilled. Because I do. Love her. Even though there are a lot of reasons why I probably shouldn’t. Those reasons have never made sense, though, and they’ve become sillier and sillier the more time I’ve spent with Maeve.”
