I have been to Palm Beach many times and loved how the author portrayed the setting. I love how the author decided to make this more of a reported novel. There are so many facts and figures included in the story. There is also a lot in the book about income inequality disparity—the gaps between the wealthy and the not-so-wealthy—and the class differences. The island of Palm Beach is known as a winter retreat for the wealthy and the famous, but all year round it is a town full of wonderfully fun things to do and see, from shopping along legendary Worth Avenue to hitting the beautiful beaches, from riding a bike to searching for the best espresso martini, from joining a spooky ghost walk to relaxing in a stunning sculpture garden. I guess there are spoilers in this review, but for there to be spoilers, there would have to be a plot to spoil, and there isn't. As Home and Away fans we had to visit Palm Beach on our recent trip to Sydney and so glad we did. The views up to the northern end take in the spectacular hilltop that houses the Barrenjoey lighthouse. in my opinion there is certainly not enough development of our characters as there could have been, which is a major point of regret - like what is Paul's deal? the Stone daughter? the main plotline ties up sooo neatly but that means there's very little regard for anything else that was brought up.
