I get that it’s near impossible to make a session-style convection vaporizer in a portable, and they did get close, but I would say it’s about ¾ convection and ¼ conduction heating. I will say that it’s one of the best tasting units in this price range, and I was surprised by the amount of convection heating in this size of a vaporizer. To turn on the XMAX v3 Pro vaporizer, you’re going to press the power button three times. The vaporizer will use your default or last temp settings when powering up. I would get the XMAX V3 Pro if you’re looking for a relatively inexpensive portable vaporizer with industry-leading features, above-average vapor quality, and don’t mind the little quirks like buttons that make noise when you shake the unit. I always know when I like the feel of a portable vape when I find myself fiddling with it while using it, and I can’t stop playing with the Starry. Draw Resistance: The draw resistance is about average when clean but goes up when dirty. The biggest contributor to the draw resistance is the mouthpiece/screen. It tends to clog up after multiple sessions so it’s important to brush out the chamber and mouthpiece after every session. I also try not to leave herbs in the chamber after a session. It performs well, has all the important features like a removable battery and full digital temperature control, and is probably going to be a hit even if you’ve already got other vapes.
