Designed for small gardens, the Flymo EasiMow 300R Electric Rotary Lawn Mower is a 30 cm electric wheeled rotary lawnmower that is equipped with a powerful 1000 W motor. Equipped with dual lever handles allow you to comfortably operate the lawn mower with either hand for greater flexibility and manoeuvrability. I was pleasantly surprised that the instruction manual was A4 in size. Most manuals are A5 and can be harder to read, especially when it comes to viewing the pictures. Not only were the images bigger than most other lawnmower manuals, but they were also very clear. One step was described per image, which was a welcome factor. One of the key advantages mentioned by users is the lightweight nature of the EasiMow 300R. Its reduced weight makes it easy to manoeuvre and handle, allowing for comfortable operation and minimising fatigue during mowing sessions. This feature is particularly appreciated by users who may have limited physical strength or mobility.

Foldable Handles The rear roller keeps the mower stable so can cut right up to, and over the edge, of your lawn without scalping. Good Points Handle– The handle is a two piece handle which you will need to fit together during assembly. You will see that half way up there are two wing knobs which connect the upper part of the handle to the bottom part. These can be loosened so that the handle can fold over for better storage. Everything fitted together nice and easy. When it comes to the handles, they simply screw together with a twist cap, so there’s no need to use a screwdriver or any other tools. On the left side, the caps were different from the right. This makes it possible to wrap the cable around the left-hand side after use, which is a handy feature.

It is equipped with a single lever height adjustment, allowing you to easily adjust the cutting height from 20 to 60 mm. The EasiMow 300R also features a grass box capacity of 30 litres, making it easy to collect the grass Grass Collection– The grass box has a pretty decent capacity and will store a nice amount of clippings in there before you have to stop and empty it. The mower does a good job of collecting these clippings too. The grass box is a little flimsy though and when lifting it up with a full load of clippings inside, the handle can come off! You can fix this easily by putting a couple of self tapping screws into the handle though and it’s something I’d recommend you do just to re-enforce it. Nobody wants the handle to come off the grass box when there’s a full load inside! Personally, I didn’t think this setting was high enough for cutting a lawn with low-to-medium growth, since it almost scalped it. When using this lawnmower, I’d suggest waiting until your grass has medium growth instead to help protect your lawn over time.In terms of performance, the Flymo EasiMow 300R had no trouble trimming a small area of grass that had low-to-medium growth. There are 3 cutting heights available and I used the highest setting of 60 mm. The Flymo EasiMow 340R runs on a 1400 watt motor. This is a nice amount of power for an electric mower of this size, so you can feel confident that it’ll get the job done efficiently. Grass Box– On to the grass box….. It’s got a 29 litre capacity which is about right for a smaller sized lawn. It fits onto the rear of the mower and is easy to attach and remove. You just lift up the safety flap which you will find at the rear of the mower and then attach it to the two location points you will see on the mower. Just let the flap down on the top of the grass box and you’ve done it. Having dual lever handles means that it is designed for ambidextrous use, the Flymo EasiMow 300R Electric Rotary Lawn Mower is able to be used by left and right handed users.

There are three stages to the assembly of the Flymo Easimo, two of them are straightforward and one is a little bit fiddly. When you open up the box you will see you’ve got the mower itself, the handle (which comes in 2 parts) and the grass box. Step one is just to attach the lower part of the handle to the mower unit itself. There’s nothing hard about this really, it’s just matter of putting a bolt through, placing a washer on and then tightening up a wing knob. You don’t need any tools to do this; your bare hands are fine! Once you’ve done that you have to do exactly the same thing to attach the upper part of the handle to the lower part. Be careful here though; make sure the upper handle is the right way up. You should be able to see the push button facing upwards. Once you’ve tightened up that wing nut you’re almost done. All that needs doing now is to assembly the grass box and that’s the fiddly part.

Assembling the Flymo EasiMow 300R was easy enough. There are only a few parts that need to be put together. First, you need to install both handles before clipping the grass box together – which came in three separate parts. The handle folds down for easy storage and as it is lightweight you should be able to lift the mower very easily. Well Designed Grass Box

Motor – In terms of the motor you’ve got on this machine, it’s certainly not the most powerful out there and I wouldn’t want to overload it and expect too much of it. This means DON’T expect it to plough through foot high grass without blinking. It’s just not cut out (no pun intended!) for that kind of job. To avoid this, I walked slower for the rest of the cut and applied quite a hard pressure when pushing. If you’re cutting tall grass, the 1000 W engine may not be enough to get through it. The ideal cutting conditions for this mower seem to be well-manicured lawns that aren’t dense or heavy with growth. Cutting Ability– It does give a decent cut if you use it for what its intended. Cut your grass regularly, keep it to a decent length and the Flymo Easimo will put in a decent performance every time. That’s all you can ask of it really. It does help massively that the mower has a metal blade.The metal blade cuts though the grass cleanly and is pretty strong so expect to get a decent lifespan out of it. If there’s one thing that really does annoy us about mowers these days, it’s the fact that some manufacturers (including Flymo) design their mowers with sub-standard plastic blades which tend to break after a few uses. You won’t have that problem with this blade though, that’s for sure. If you don’t want to mess around when cutting your lawn, then I would absolutely recommend giving the Flymo EasiMow 340R a try. Its convenience at its best, but doesn’t scrimp on features that allow you to create a neat and professional looking finish to your lawn. Since the two most marketed features of this lawnmower are its close edge-cutting abilities and built-in rear roller, these were the features I wanted to focus on the most.You have a choice of five cutting heights with the Flymo EasiMow 340R and these range between 20mm and 60mm. The 20mm minimum is great for people who like to keep their grass very short, but the higher end of the scale could be a little more generous, in my opinion, as some mowers go up to 75mm allowing them to cut longer grass.
