Description

Work in a k2p2 ribbing (k2p2 across) for 5 rows. slipping the 1 flat portion for a 1 stitch salvage edge. Next row – sl1, k2tog, knit across (63sts)

To place your ears, start by folding the bonnet so that it lays flat. We will place the ears into the very center of the side rows and so many inches below the fold on the bonnet. (See the photo below). How far down you sew the ears will depend on the size of bonnet you are making. Now your Crochet Bunny Bonnet is complete and ready to be enjoyed. They work up fast and make a great gift. Let’s Be Friends

What kind of Easter bonnets are ideal for kids?

These Easter bonnets can also be kept for next year, to be used again or used as decoration. How much does it cost to do Easter crafts with the kids?

The gallery above shows what you'll need for each idea, but in general, the following supplies are all handy for crafting your Easter masterpieces: ER 19: Working in BLO, sl st across (5). Attach to sts 11 and 12 of Row 11 with a Slst2TOG. Ch 1 and turn. Brim Row 4: CH2, turn, DC in first ST, FPDC into next ST, *BPDC into next ST, FPDC into next ST,* repeat from *to* until only one ST remains. DC in last ST.

ER 43: Working in BLO, sl st across (5). Attach to sts 26 and 27 of Row 11 with a Slst2TOG. Ch 1 and turn. Take the last tie that you crocheted and flip it over to that lies smoothly against the brim rows. Use a yarn needle and your yarn end to stitch the last stitch to the top of the brim rows and then weave in your end. Weave in the end at the center of the crown rows. Finishing Row: CH1, rotate your work so that you can work down the side of the previous rows. Work 1 SC into the side of each row. Work 1 SC into the same CH that row 1 was worked into, CH1, Work another SC into the same CH row 1 was worked into.

Be sure to ALWAYS supervise toddlers and younger kids while they're crafting. Small items like googly eyes and pipe cleaners can easily find their way into a child's mouth, so keep a careful eye on them to reduce the risk of choking. You only need some card, pom poms, coloured tissue paper, glue and scissors to create most of these DIY Easter hats, which come with easy-to-follow instructions. You will now be working rows perpendicular to the bonnet. This will create the ribbed edging. These rows will be referred to as Edging Rows (ER). In the following instruction I will be referencing a sl st to attach to Row 11. This refers to Row 11 of the bonnet.Work in a k2p2 ribbing (k2p2 across) for 4 rows. slipping the 1 st on each row flat portion for a 1 stitch salvage edge. End after completing a wrong side row. ER 27: Working in BLO, sl st across (5). Attach to sts 16 and 17 of Row 11 with a Slst2TOG. Ch 1 and turn. Last Row continued: Rotate your work until you can work into the other side of the side rows. Work 1 SC into the side of each side row, Work 2 SC into the side of each Brim row. CH 31. SC into second CH from the hook. SC into the next 29 CH. For Large Baby size bonnet, repeat Side row 2 until you have a total of 13 side rows and 18 rows total for your project. ER 35: Working in BLO, sl st across (5). Attach to sts 21 and 22 of Row 11 with a Slst2TOG. Ch 1 and turn.

Note: We are continuing on from part 2, becuase row count will vary based on the size you are making, we are starting the row count over. All sizes will work the same number of brim rows. Similarly, dress the kids in old clothes, or give them an apron to protect their regular outfit. An old adult T-shirt is an easy way to protect clothes if you don't have an apron to hand. Brim Row 3: CH2, turn, DC in first ST, BPDC into next ST, *FPDC into next ST, BPDC into next ST,* repeat from *to* until only one ST remains. DC in last ST. Work in a k2p2 ribbing (k2p2 across) for 5 rows. slipping the 1 flat portion for a 1 stitch salvage edge.

Repeat rows 7&8 until the ear measures 6ins/15cm from cast on ending after completing a row 7. Row 9 – sl1, ssk, k9, k2tog, k1 (13sts) This time of year was always my busiest time of year in my etsy shop. Why? Bunny Bonnets. I sold a couple thousand bunny bonnets over the decade my etsy shop was open. By April I LOATHED bunnies. I’m not going to lie, I’m so happy I don’t have to spend 14 hours a day making the same thing over and over and over again this spring. But I may make a bunny bonnet just for my own baby because next year she’ll probably be too big for one. *wipes tear* Last Row: CH 31, SC in second CH from hook. SC in next 29 CHs. (A total of 30 SC), rotate your work so you can work into the side of the rows from Part 2 and 3. Work 2 SC into the side of each brim row. Work 1 SC into the side of each side row.
