I like that we see the beginning, how it started. Usually with dystopias the book starts and the dystopia is well in place and we never really get to know how it happened or evolved to that. But in this book, you feel the transition, the panic that the main character goes through when she understands her new reality. Either way, I definitely think this book is worth the read, and I for sure want to read other books from this author. Oh what a creepy read this is. It fits in very well for this time of year. I liked that the story was fast paced but it did not skip on any attention to detail while doing so. There's plenty of twists to keep your attention but the author saved the best twist till the end, and I certainly did not see that coming. This is the first book I have read by this author and I will be looking out for more from her in the future. There's so many ways this story could have gone, I slowly started to put the pieces together. At about 60% into the book I was certain where it was headed, and I was correct. Though I must admit, briefly I started to change my mind. I thought maybe the story was headed in a different direction, but soon realized that's what Jennifer Jaynes wants the reader to think. Well played Jennifer, well played. Even though I had predicted where it was headed, I was not at all disappointed with how it played out. This is a great psychological thriller!
