This makes me wonder if it's truly powering my various condensers or if I'm getting an underwhelming signal.

The Behringer Xenyx 1002B adds no noise into the mix and is small groups, especially acoustic acts which need amplification. The "Behringer 2001B" is a mains (via an adaptor) and battery powered mixer, but not to be confused with the Behringer 2001, this is quite a different mixer, and a bit daft of Behringer to produce two quite different mixers with a similar model number. The battery compartment requires a screwdriver to open so it is hard to install and remove 39volt batteries. They say it serves their needs perfectly, is the best mixer for a podcaster who doesn't need a ton of features, and is a good mixer for live sub mixing.
